Learn how to express yourself with freedom and the exuberance you once knew as a child. It is a 7-week program that will focus on helping you find your freedom, identify what truly brings you joy, and will demystify the needlessly intimidating practice of creating art.
Is This Just for Artistic People? NO!
Have you always wanted to begin an art practice
as a creative outlet for yourself?
But you don't even know where to begin?
Well in this booklet I will share with you The Elements of Design and explain them in a simple, easy to understand format.
Creating your own art is easier than you think and can be a healing hobby or the beginning of a professional career.
I have a practice in neurofeedback therapy, where I use my background in counseling to help individuals with stress related issues, and I'm also an artist.
One of the suggestions I often make is for my clients to find a creative outlet, be it painting, singing, music or gardening. Most of them hesitate, because they just need some guidance on how to get started.Tell Me More
You may be wondering how adding a hobby will create joy in other parts of your life.
#1 Creating Art Sensitizes Us To Beauty
There are a variety of reasons, but essentially it's this; Creativity of any kind increases our sensitivity to small moments that go unnoticed while we're consumed with our daily responsibilities. Our antennas for spotting them get rusty and may even disappear.
Here's where adding creativity to your life can give you a shift in perspective, not just when you are working on a piece, but in your daily life. The same discernment you will discover in improving or beginning an art practice will transform the rest of your day.
#2 Create More
We are so caught up in the responsibilities of life that before we know it, we're not sure what we like or want anymore. Do you feel you're just going through the motions of living day-to-day, but you can't remember the last time you felt invigorated or excited about something?
This course will help you reignite the joy you remember feeling as a child, full of freedom and curiosity. Let's get started on tapping into the part of yourself that's been sleeping and ignored for far too long!
Experienced artists can get stuck as well. They may be skilled but if their art doesn't come from the heart, it can feel joyless and stale. They may focus too much on techniques and process, forgetting why they love art in the first place.
Beginners have an advantage in this respect. They are more willing to throw caution to the wind and try anything. They are more curious, because everything is new to them and their perspective is that of a child. And that's exactly what we want.
How I find inspiration and joy through my art?
What's holding you back? Fear
How much longer does your soul, the authentic you, without apology, have to wait? Remember, our brains are primed for fear. As a neurofeedback therapist, I work directly with clients who have severe anxiety and help them overcome anxiety and despair. I've also seen first-hand, in my own life and in the life of others, the healing powers of art.
For one moment, talk with compassion and appreciation to that fearful, embarrassed inner you. Explain that finding ways to infuse joy in your day-to-day life, will keep you safe and put you on a course to a healthier, more joyful way of living. There is nothing to be afraid of. You already have what it takes to produce your own art, because you are your only you! Learning a few basic skills can get you started on your journey to finding joy.
